My name is Hannah Mary-Louise Wastlund (yes, I have two middle names) and I am a 20 year old Kansan! I'll tell you randomly a little bit about myself, my interest, and then I'll get into why I wanted to start an inspirational/Christian blog.
My biggest hobby right now is Makeup Artistry. Ever since I was a little bitty thing, I remember I would grocery shop with one of my parents, and when I saw the makeup aisle it was like a magnetic force was luring me into that area. My parents have been supportive of this interest of mine, even when they didn't know it was really a passion. My mom would let me put blush and lip gloss on before school when I was in elementary. Since I was able to wear makeup and be creative, I think it prevented me from going crazy with makeup when I turned 13. And, as much as I love makeup artistry I don't always put makeup on everyday! I also like being confident with just a bare face!
I also have a great interest in health, and this also ties in with makeup artistry (in a way) because I believe that using natural products is the way to go! I haven't completely started this yet, but I'm working on it! Like using raw honey as a face wash, coconut oil for moisturizer. It just makes sense to use natural products because our bodies weren't really designed to process all the chemicals that we put in/on our bodies. Okay, back to the HEALTH FOOD thing. Over 2 years ago I was at my highest weight ever and didn't know anything about eating healthy. I drank route 44 full-sugar soda's everyday, and ate ice cream whenever I wanted it. Well, 2 years ago from this February 2014, my family decided to go on the 17-day diet and it changed the way I looked at food from that point on. I ended up losing a pretty solid 30 pounds. There was a short time after I lost the weight that I became obsessed with dieting (which I'll probably discuss sometime of an eating disorder thing on here sometime) and so I decided I had to back away and be happy at the weight I am until my mind can renew. Now, my older brother is talking me into doing juicing and it looks like I'm going to do it! My brother doesn't really believe in diets but he believes in health and real food and getting real nutrition! He has stayed on his juicing thing a while, and I'm extremely proud of him!
Another interest I have is writing. I bet you can tell by now ;) I'm not a formal writer, however, I just think one of the most relaxing/creative things for me to do is sit down and write. As much as I liked writing, I didn't realize I had much of a talent at writing until 11th grade. My teacher told me that I should really think about journalism because of the way I write. Then I had a creative writing class my first year of college, and that's when I really began to explore my creativity in it. I had a teacher who told us our pending assignment the whole year is to just fill up a journal. It was a lot of fun!
Those are my main interest! I have many little hobbies that I like doing as well! I like singing, playing my ukulele, playing apples to apples with a fun bunch of people, drinking fancy coffee, holding animals, shopping, and reading inspirational blogs (such as Jarrid Wilson and the daily positive by Dale Partridge, check them out)
The reason I've decided to start a blog..
I've actually been thinking about starting one, but never really did anything to get it going until now. I've been inspired by other Christian writers' blogs (the one's I have mentioned above). I've also been inspired by the Woman of Faith conference I went to about 3 years ago with my mom, it put a spark in me to want to inspire others. I enjoyed the whole conference, but Patsy Clairmont was my favorite speaker. She talked about how she had anxiety and depression and never got out of bed, and God helped her and now she's touring the country! As much as I like writing, I'm not much of a book reader, but her books are amazing! I recommend stain-glassed hearts! I'm working on her new book, Twirl, right now!
I have a very strong passion in wanting to especially inspire young ladies. I believe God has allowed me to go through the good and the bad that I've gone through to help inspire others to glorify Him. I'm here to tell of what God has done for me and that He is always here, He is always faithful, and He will always love us.
Isaiah 40:31
" but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles;they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
