This particular topic has been heavy on my mind, especially lately. I feel, as Christians, we take for granted the continual access we have to God. We feel overwhelmed, like things are constantly going wrong, loneliness, and tragedy happen. Usually our first instinct is trying to figure things out in our own mind, rather then talking to God about it. Something that i always think about is..Praying is a direct connection, talking to our Creator; the Creator of the Universe. He controls everything. He controls time, gravity, weather, our heartbeats...it goes on and on forever. We shouldn't have to try to figure everything out, we aren't suppose to. We are Gods children. When a child has something traumatic happen to them..they immediately go to a parent or guardian. That's how we should see God. When something goes wrong..when something goes right. Pray about it. Go to Him. Share your heart with Him. You can cry your eyes out to Him and talk to Him all night when you can't sleep, and He will be listening to you.
I also understand times when it feels like it's too hard to pray. The words can't even come to mind of what to pray for, you don't know what you want or need...but God listens to our hearts when we are too weak to communicate with him. His word says that He prays in us and for us, making prayers out of our wordless sighs and aching groans.
Romans 8:28
Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along. If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter. He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.
Some Bible verses talking about prayer :)
Matthew 21:21-22
And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen. And whatever you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith.”
John 14:13-14 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
